Fri 10   fine day & warmer   Rain a little last nite   I pd $3 for 2 rooms last nite   we took breakfast at restaurant & I pd 1,70 for 4   past thru Saratoga Sunnyvale Los Gatos   much nice valley country   went over Santa Cruz Mts   good road but narrow & breakneck precipices but went safe up steep grad & down other side to Santa cruz  were we took dinner & I pd 1,70 for the 4   we then drove 5 or 6 miles to see the big Sequoia trees & walkd near ½ mile acros a wire rope suspended breakneck bridge & saw fine large trees & tall   a grand sight   a large very fat cat came to us & I peted him in that dark lonely place   looks like rain   drove back over Santa Cruz mts & to sanmateo & it commencd to rain   got dark   our lights were poor & after looking town over took supper with colord woman   I pd 1,05 for 3   I didn’t eat   got beds at a rooming house   little Kerosene stoves & cool
