Tues 3 on our trip to Grand Junction UP rr [Union Pacific Railroad] Cool Sunshine & Snow at noon arrived in Denver Colorado we rested poor on the sleeper & took breakfast on the diner 2 pancakes poor sausage & 1 cup coffee each & I pd 1,50 all along the way at Kit Carson wild horse few houses a treeless desolate waste few cattle on the range & a few hay rix I set my watch back an hour Several soldiers on our train discharged we arrived in Denver at 2-30 & Ray Green met us a soldier in medic dpt we had a good visit & had oysters & I paid the bill at first class 1,95 I bot sleeper ticket to Grand Junction pd 2,75 took train at 5,30 & started on time bade Ray good bye I am most sick & have a prospect of passing a poor nite
