  1. This is very fascinating. Converse had no children who survived him. His father was Virgil, a Civil War veteran and Andersonville survivor, who was Ezra Bradford’s brother. They had two sisters in Maine, who also never reproduced. Of those four siblings, only Ezra had one child who reproduced, my great grandfather Luther, whose only child was Maud, whose daughter was my mother-who had two children, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren. That’s it. This seems so unusual for the time. That family line has a low reproduction rate!
