Sat Sept 23 A very fine Calm Sunny day Vic clerked for Shiller H Bartholomew & hand Came & finished the new Cistern & it looks like a good job we cemented cellar way at the Oldaker house & took a few bricks there I will raise the wall of Cellar window & make a new top cover for Cistern no cement to be had in this town I gave H Bartholomew Chk for $10,75c & we are Square I got lug boalts & bolted the new p_____ in place & at 3,30 PM Leslie & I went up to the pasture & thrashed the navy beans & got 2 cabbage one punkin & Some green pole beans to cook Mag Came home from Maudes this Eve
