Sat Sept 19 A very fine fall day & Sunny Leslie & I dug potatos up to the pasture & I cut 3 Shox of our midling Sweet Corn up at the pasture we went up again in the PM & dug awhile potatos turning out fine Vic Clerked for [Oscar] Shiller [a merchant in Wellman] & run a foot race PM with one Hess [Hessian? German] who beat Vic the 4th Jul by fouling Vic beat to day and is getting to be quite a Sprinter
