Saturday June 5th 1897 A nice cool sunny day we had just got to work when Tom McReynolds called to tell Harve his Mother [Naomi Jane Robinson Dorrance] is very sick Harve went home with him I stocked up the tool house hoed some in the garden &c Harve has worked 260 days & drew 91,95 I fixed table leaf & cupboard door
