Monday Nov 16 An Extra fine nice warm day we arose Early & took three head of heifer stock old Rose, Beauty and roan heifer to Nira to Ris Sheppard he paid me $57,00 in gold the first gold I have seen since Sylvia was married Harve commenced plowing on the new ground at 10 am & after an Early dinner Vic & Harriet went with Mag & I to Keota & we start for Wayne Co to Fred Brewers wedding [Margaret Taylor Carr’s nephew] took dinner at Benj Sanders & at dusk took train for Washington & put up for the night at Joe Scrantons I gave J H Lewis $20 church money & took his rect for same
