Saturday September 5, 1896 real Cool & cloudy all day & strong NW wind we all went to Wellman to Band convention we took our dinner & eat on the park ground & took a big pan full of dinner for the band boys Frank Dautremont ate dinner with us & his little boy also Several others M. Slocum &c too Cool for Comfort My feet ached not much Comfort any where a kind of a bore Sam Carr & wife didnt come home with us will go home tomorrow I paid Harve $5 he has worked 45 days & drew $11,35 home in good chore time Saw the balloon ascension before we started & Ez & Amanda came home with us also Ike I bought ½ share in breaking plow of Christena Crage paid her $2,50
