Saturday February 13th 1892 A very fine warm day Ez & Amanda came over & he & I went with Mag & Amanda to Nira & they took the train for Thornburg [Keokuk County, Iowa] to visit with Amanda Carr a cousin of mine till Monday home at noon & Ez went home Roy & Harve mowed brush & PM I mowed & Harve piled brush I put a handle in the new brush hoe & it works fine we cut the brush off close with the top of the ground & sometimes get the root also Harve has worked 253 days & drew 95,90 a bottle glycerine & anice 15c Roy has worked 6 days at $18,00 per month
