Friday Sept 12 we put in most of the day taking home borrowed furniture & dishes Eli Scranton & wife & Martin Scranton & sisters Lizzie & Ollie stayed all night also Lelia Wallace they had all gone by 10 am & Nora & Allie went down by Kalona to his uncles I went to Amandas & Brother Sam & I took dinner there while it rained a nice short shower then the sun shon warm & Sam came home with me & we got some melons & visited he brought me a picture of his home & a nicely tanned buckskin of his own killing in Oregon.
